LogRider for the Mac App Store — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This policy describes the Mac App Store edition of LogRider, provided by Hormesis Labs.
Your logs stay on your Mac
LogRider processes files locally. The app makes no network calls and does not collect or transmit personal data, log contents, file paths, search terms, usage analytics, device identifiers or diagnostics. It contains no advertising or tracking SDKs and requires no account.
Local settings and file access
LogRider stores preferences, bookmarks and session information on your Mac, including file paths and macOS security-scoped bookmarks used to reopen files you selected. These records are not uploaded to us. LogRider uses the macOS sandbox and system file picker to obtain access to files you choose. We hold no server-side copy of your logs or local app settings to delete.
If you contact support
Email Support opens a draft in your mail application. The draft includes the app version, macOS version and processor information to help diagnose problems. You can edit or remove that information before sending. No log file is attached automatically. If you send a message, we receive your email address and the contents you choose to send; your mail provider processes that email under its own policy. Please omit confidential log contents. For questions about support correspondence or to request its deletion, contact biro@hormesislabs.com.
Apple and external services
Apple handles App Store purchases and distribution under its own privacy policy. This app policy does not describe Apple’s independent data processing, your email provider’s practices or data processing when you visit a website.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy if LogRider’s data practices change. Privacy questions can be sent to biro@hormesislabs.com.
LogRider — direct download edition
What it sends, exactly
The only network request LogRider makes is a once-a-day check for a new version. It sends the app version and nothing else, and you can switch it off.
No telemetry, no account, nothing uploaded. Read-only. Your licence activates locally.
