What you get
Pay once, own it
A one-time purchase, not a subscription. The version you install keeps working forever.
A year of updates
Every release for twelve months from the day you buy, then it stops updating and keeps working. Your licence key carries the date, so this is enforced by the app, not by us remembering.
Offline activation
Your key is an Ed25519 signature the app verifies on your machine. No licence server to call, nothing to activate online, no account to create.
One person, your machines
Desktop, laptop, the Mac mini in the closet. It's a personal licence, not a per-seat meter.
Questions
- How does the trial work?
- The trial is just the download: 7 days with every feature unlocked, no card, no email and no account. When it ends, LogRider asks for a key.
- $19 for a log viewer?
- It's about an hour of your time, once — and the trial is 7 days with no card, so it costs nothing to find out whether it's worth it on your files. If less, lnav or klogg already do the job for you, use them: they're free, they're good, and this isn't trying to argue otherwise. LogRider is for the case where they aren't enough.
- How do I get my key?
- By email, within a minute of paying, to the address you check out with. Open LogRider, choose LogRider › Enter Licence Key…, and paste the key with that email address — the key is signed against the address, so it has to match.
- What if it doesn't work on my files?
- Find out before you pay. The trial is the full app for 7 days with no card and no account — point it at your largest log on day one. If you've bought and hit a problem, email biro@hormesislabs.com and we'll sort it out.
- What isn't in this version?
- No file comparison or diff, no folder comparison, no three-way merge, no git difftool, no syntax highlighting, no minimap or custom highlight rules, and no Kubernetes log streaming. Several of those are built in the engine underneath and are switched off in this release rather than missing — comparison, for instance, works but the way you picked the two files wasn't good enough to ship. macOS only.
- Do you track me?
- The only network request LogRider makes is a once-a-day check for a new version. It sends the app version and nothing else, and you can switch it off. Beyond that: no telemetry, no account, nothing uploaded — and this page carries no analytics or third-party scripts.
- What do I need to run it?
- Any Mac running macOS 12.0 Monterey or later — the build is universal, Apple silicon and Intel. Our timings were all measured on Apple silicon. No Windows or Linux build.
- What about the Kubernetes features?
- Built and tested, but not in this release — they're held for 1.1. Pricing for that isn't decided yet, so we're not going to quote you a number we might have to walk back.
